5 Weeks to Go!

The official due date is September 26 for those keeping count! The Doctor changed it to September 23 earlier on, but not "officially" ... she just said that's what it was looking more like. BUT - if you talk to Memaw, it's September 24, okay? (Her birthday!)
The time has gone so fast! Dion and I are down to the last few weeks! We have done the hospital tour, Taking Care of Baby class and the Infant CPR class. This week we have a couple more, and in 2 weekends we go to the Child Birth class ... that's the one I am dreading!! I have heard about all I need to from my girlfriends!
Thanks to our very generous friends and family, we have almost everything we need to take care of this baby - at least for a week or so until we realize what we need! Check out website - the baby's room is almost done! I just have a couple things in the wash right now, then we should be set! Can't believe it's so soon!

End of an Era!

Well, it was a sad day Saturday - the end of an era! We sold the Celica! It's all good though - we sold it to a good home. The Celica with only the 2-doors was not too pratical once the little one arrives! Dion now has a "tuner" ... more on that later! That was a good ole car ... ordered in February 2001, delivered in July! One of the first times Dion and I met my car had come in but I hadn't picked it up yet. He still remembers how excited I was!

The Garden - Part 2!

Tonight Farmer Dion did some watering and discovered the other seeds have developed as well! The radishes and the carrots and the onions have sprouted! The radishes are the ones really growing! We will be able to harvest them before we go on vacation! Actually - they will be ready to pick 5/25! So, anyone in the Huntersville area who wants a good salad towards the end of May, let us know and
we'll contribute!

We also have a bloom on the cherry tomato plant - I can't wait to pick the first one this year! Tomato sandwiches are the best! We have all the "fixin's" for salsa too - I foresee homemade salsa a staple at the house!
Next summer we're probably getting cattle for the backyard ... angus steak anyone?

The Garden

So my husband has a new nickname in the neighborhood ... "Farmer Dion"! Last summer he constructed this awesome raised garden, and this year (last weekend to be exact) we picked out our crops at the local farmer's market and Dion planted away! I will take another picture this week - the radishes have sprouted already! And we expect the carrots and onions to any minute ...
