Bye Bye Biscuits ...

And bacon, and hashbrowns, and warm brownies with ice cream, and sweet tea, and real coke, and salasrita nachos EVERY wednesday, and the old timers breakfast at Cracker Barrel EVERY weekend, and french fries, and ... ... ...
"Skinny jeans" - I can't wait to see you again real soon!
Yep, you guessed it - - - I am back on the Weight Watchers Wagon! I went last Wednesday for the first time. I have 29.6 pounds to lose to get to my pre-Dillon weight! I have done a good job tracking my food so far this week. I went to the grocery store and bought some good stuff, started eating lots of veggies again, started planning meals. We aren't eating out (or getting take out) near as much as we were before. This will not only save my butt from continuing to grow, but also save my wallet!
My new favorite snack right now is the cinnamon goldfish. Have you tried that? They are great for a sweet snack - 50 fish for only 3 points. Love it!
I'll keep you posted with my progress - this will help keep me honest!

Carly - 2 Weeks!

Today Carly had her 2 week check-up! She's still a tiny thing - but seems BIG to us now!! :) Here are the stats:
weight: 5 lbs 11 oz (was 4 lbs 15 oz last Monday)
length: 19 inches (was 18 inches 2 weeks ago)
She is in the 3rd percentile for 2 weeks for weight and 6th for length, BUT remember, she's still supposed to be in my belly!! The doctor said that she is much stronger than she "should be" in every aspect except sucking, so that is good. She might be little, but she is fierce! Dillon better watch out! ha ha

Carly Update

Wow! Day 6 already!
We came home from the hospital Saturday afternoon and have been doing great ever since! Dillon just adores his little sister! He wants to kiss her, hug her, hold her! He imitates her when she lets out a squeal! He gets nervous when she cries. He's a great big brother!
We took Carly to her first Dr appt Monday morning. She weighed 4 lbs 15 3/4 oz ... TINY! But we have upped her intake and I think we are moving towards growing now. She is very alert at times, but of course sleeps most of the time. Last night was a great night - when she was not feeding, Carly was perfectly content snoozing in her bassinet.

Welcome Carly Mae

We finally named the baby! Yeah!
Yesterday went pretty well overall - got to the hospital at 7, water broken by 8, contractions started by 8:45 ... then the waiting began ... 2 cm, 3cm, 3 1/2 cm, 4 cm, 4 cm, 4cm ... then bam - within an hour 6 cm, 8 cm, ready to push! That last hour was very stressful - every time I had a contraction, the baby's heart rate would dip waaaaay down, so the doctor knew she was in distress. This happened when my mom was having me and she had to have an emergency c-section. This also happened with Dillon - when he was born, the cord was wrapped around his neck twice! So I thought here we go again ... we could tell the doctor was getting way more serious. She said "this is disappointing" and Dion and I both thought we were going to be rushed to the OR, but the little girl hung in there and popped on out! The other thing we were worried about of course is her lung development. When I got tested last week the levels were very immature for lung development, so I was worried that would add to the complications, but then we heard that sweet little thing cry! I don't think we have ever heard anything so reassuring!
Then it just kept getting better from there - she weighed in at 5 lbs 6 oz!! (Remember the doctors said 4 something - between 4 lbs 11 oz and 4 lbs 15 oz ... she showed them!) And she got a 9 and a 9 out of possible 10s for the apgar tests. AND - they let her stay with us until 7:30 or a little later - so over 2 hours! When the ped nurses left her with us, I knew she must be perfectly fine - and perfectly fine she is!!
I can't wait for everyone to meet her! She is just the sweetest little thing! She looks a lot like Dillon - A LOT! I am very excited about that! When Dion and I looked at pictures this morning of when Dillon was born, he looks BIG! (He was born 6 lbs 10 oz! That one pound is noticeable!)
Check out these pictures!

At the Hospital ...

Here we go! My water is broken and the pitocin (spelling?) is dripping! The contractions have started and it looks like we'll have a baby soon! Everything is going good so far! This morning was a little too "organized" for me, but that's okay! We liked the chaos and excitement of the spontaneity of Dillon's birth - this has been planned since Monday! Had to set the alarm clock and all!
More to come later! Like a name ... :)

May 6, 2010

So - the verdict is I will be induced Thursday morning. Not sure of the exact time at this point, but sometime Thursday AM, with a baby expected by 5pm.
Today Dion and I were in the Doctor's office for over 2 hours again! Everything checked out perfectly fine once again, except my doctor believes the baby has stopped growing and would be better off outside where we can feed her. I was hooked to the fetal monitor for over and hour, and then the technician did another ultrasound to check the fluid levels, and all was fine.
So, looks like we will meet ole what's her name on Thursday ... Dion and I really need to decide on a name! Dillon likes all the names I have suggested, and threw in a new one tonight ... "Poppy" ... nice Dad ... see what you've done! :)
Update coming Thursday .......... STAY TUNED!
