Dillon - 15 months!

Dillon had his 15 month WELL CHECK-UP today! I capitalized the "WELL CHECK-UP" part because he has been several times in the past months with ear issues. His check-up went great today! He is progressing as he should, he is the size he should be, he finally got his H1N1 shot, his ears look much better - we are just so blessed. Even with the ear problems, we are so blessed. This child has such a tolerance for pain that even when he has ear infections, he shows hardly any signs. He is a great eater, a great sleeper, he laughs all the time and plays by himself and with us. Honestly, I cannot imagine a better child! OK, probably enough bragging for now! :) Here are his stats:
Height: 32 1/2 inches (between 75 - 90 percentile)
Weight: 24 lbs 11 oz (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 50th percentile

All grown up:

Christmas

We had a great Christmas! Hope everyone else did too! The best thing I got for Christmas was a video camera! We had been borrowing Mom and Dad's for the past year plus. Dion also got me a card reader, so maybe I'll even figure out YouTube in the near future! We'll see! At any rate - bottom line is we were so excited about the video camera we mostly video'd Christmas instead of taking pictures! I was so bummed when I realized it, but we did still get a few - so here you go!

It's a ... GIRL!!!!

Dillon is going to be a big brother! And Patrick is now going to have 3 sisters! :) Dion and I are having a baby and we found out yesterday that she's a girl! This pregnancy for me has been exactly like the one with Dillon - no problems, no getting sick, everything great. Hopefully that means this little one is going to be just like Dillon and love her sleep, be sweet to her mama, laugh all the time, etc etc etc!
Seeing the ultrasound yesterday was just as exciting as the first time we saw Dillon. It's just so wild what all you can see! This little girl is one active thing! I can only feel her once in a while right now, but expect in a week or two I'll be feeling those feet kicking non-stop!
Profile picture! I think she's got my nose ... ha ha!Here are her little feet! She was kicking the whole time but the technician was finally able to capture a still shot!
And this I could not believe - while we were "watching" her, she stuck her thumb in her mouth and sucked on it!! Now that's definitely our baby! :)

Kitchen Finished! (Finally Posted!)

The countertops look great and Dion did a fabulous job painting, grouting, hanging the new light, etc! Check it out!

Dillon is saying "WHOO-HOO!!" :)

Countertops - Before and During

Well, Dion and I finally made the move! We are getting solid countertops! We have been talking about it since the day we moved in here (6 1/2 years ago)! Wednesday the granite countertops will arrive ... in the meantime, Dion and Dad placed the island top back on ... and as long as you don't lean on it or into it, it works just fine ... now the stove and the dishwasher - they need to be bolted down! I have a crick in my neck from tensing up when trying to unload the dishwasher!! That thing nearly fell on top of me (and I could already see all the broken dishes!) But, never fear, Dion was there to jump in and save the day! Enjoy the pics ... more to come Wednesday ... CAN'T WAIT!! Before
During
Countertops gone!
The one good thing is it's very easy to get things out of the drawers now!! :)

Hippie Baby

Mom, Dillon and I went to Blowing Rock on Friday! Here are a few pictures from the trip ... I definitely have the cutest hippie ever made!
FEARLESS!!

Grandparents

Aren't they the best?

Flying with Daddy

This past weekend Dion took us flying over Lake Norman and then to Mount Airy. Dillon has flown in a plane twice before - to and from Baltimore last Christmas. I am sure this was quite a difference experience for him - for one, his daddy was the pilot! And he was alert most of the trip and it's a much smaller plane. He had a good time - didn't fuss one bit! Here are a couple pictures from last Sunday!

Words

Dillon has what I consider quite a big vocabulary these days! Here are the words that I am pretty sure he's saying - - -
Dada
Mama
baby
hey
hi
hello
bye-bye
"nite-nite"
"quack quack"
hot (although he just repeats it, doesn't know what it means)
"tickle tickle tickle" (sounds like "ticka ticka ticka")
"beep beep beep" (when the microwave is done)
Poppy (my dad)
uh-oh

Dillon also has a new things where he picks up random toys and talks into them like they are phones ... here he is talking on his "iPhone" ... ha ha ha!

Quack Quack

Happy Halloween (just a week or two late!)

Big Boy Car Seat

Right after Dillon's first birthday, he switched to the big boy car seat. It took him a little while to get used to it - he liked sitting in it from the beginning, but when we were driving around, he was very very serious for a good bit! He just sat back there sucking that thumb with a straight face and starring out the window! Now he's a pro though and will smile, giggle and "sing" in the car!

Dillon's Birthday Party

Dillon had the best time Saturday at his birthday party! We had it at our house. It was chaotic at times, but it was great! Thanks to everyone for stopping by and making Dillon's birthday so special!

Dillon at School

When we went to Dillon's school to share the cupcakes, I was soooooo pleased to see Dillon was not clingy to me and actually wanted to play with his friends after they finished their snack. Here are a couple pictures I took. For those of you who have been asking how the daycare thing is going, thanks!! I really do think it's going well. Again this morning Dillon was playing when Dion left! And when I picked him up, I stood outside the room for a few minutes and watched him play with his friends. Dillon was opening a drawer, and his buddy would shut it, then again, Dillon would open it ... you can't beat that! :)

Dillon's Birthday

So - I'm less than a week late ... back off!! :)

Dillon had a fabulous first birthday! Here are a few pics to share. Following Liz's "tradition", here's a picture of Dillon waking up Tuesday, September 22.
After taking most of his bottle, Dillon scooted down from me to play with his birthday present - the Fisher Price Farm. Very cute!
And then we headed to Picture People to get his picture made! They asked me to sign a model release form because he is soooo precious/cute/handsome, and I did. Then I went back to get some reprints and his face is now on display on their wall 5 times!! Dillon Michael Vaughn, model. LOL
Then Dillon had a snooze. When he got up, we took 2 bite cupcakes to his school class. Here he is after eating the cupcake ... looks like he owns the place, doesn't he??
Then we went to Chick-fil-a to let him play in the little play area. The McDonald's play area is for 3 years and up ... what up with that?? Anyway, Chick-fil-a was quick fun for the little guy!
Afterwards we went to Outback to celebrate! Dillon got his first kid's meal ... grilled chicken and sweet potato. He ate most of the chicken (about 2/3), about 1/3 of the sweet potato, 2 pieces of the bread, a container of mandarin oranges AND THEN ice cream! He cried when Dion stopped feeding him the ice cream!! You should have seen his poor belly!!! ha ha ha
The night was wrapped up with bath time where he got his last present. This little gadget is pretty cool. It swims around the tub, lights up and sprays water. Do you see it? Very cool!
Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Dillon!! I can't believe you are 1 year old already!

Calling My Ladies!!

This weekend I took the boat out all by myself ... (okay, Mom and Dad were with me first, and then I had to riders on my second leg, but "all by myself" as in without Dion!) So you know what that means!!!! Let's hit the lake! We can do it! We don't need boys to drive the boat! :)

Dion - you know I love going on the boat with ya! Just have to get the offer out there ... I mean, you and the guys go out to lunch on the boat. Us girls gotta have some fun too!

Who's in?

Vaughn Boys

This picture is about a month old, but I love it! Here are the Vaughn boys putting together Dillon's tricycle! Look at Dillon right there in the middle of it all! The tricycle by the way has been AWESOME! Mom and Dad got it for Dillon for his birthday (a little early!) We have thoroughly enjoyed it! Dillon and I take walks around the neighborhood most nights, and a couple of times we have tooled around Birkdale (tonight included). I love going to Birkdale because people cannot help but comment on our little boy riding his tricycle with his legs propped up on the handlebars sucking his thumb!

Reasons I Don't Blog As Frequently Anymore

10. I have a child in "school" now and have to pack lunches at night.
9. My job is crazy, and often I log back in to work after Dillon goes to bed (okay, probably twice a week).
8. I get up at 5:45 am! (Well, my alarm goes off at 5:45 am! And 5:54 am, and 6:03 am, and 6:12 am, and 6:21 am, and sometimes 6:30 am!!)
7. I am trying to plan a very spectacular 1st birthday party for my little one!
6. We have to do our own laundry now ... it stinks, and takes time.
5. We have to do our own shopping now ... it stinks, and takes time (no more casually leaving the WalMart list on the counter and coming home to find everything bought! Thanks Mom!)
4. We are actually eating at home most nights a week now - cooking dinner takes time.
3. It just plain feels good to sit on the couch at night and not feel like I "have" to do anything.
2. I cannot blog at work (not that I would have time, but I needed a #2!)
and the number 1 reason I haven't been blogging as frequently ... I like to hear from you all that you miss the updates!! :)

Thanks for your patience! I will try to get back into the swing of things!!

Biker Boyz

Dillon LOVES the motorcycle! He watches Dion circle our road! He loves the vibrations! He cries when you take him off of it! I think bikes are in his future ... which only makes sense. His Daddy, brother and Poppy are all crazy about bikes! (And his mama has a Vespa!)

Just Becuz I Don't Feel Good ...

Don't mean I can't look good! So, I picked Dillon up from school Friday and he was burning up! He had a 102 temperature and turns out his first ear infection! Poor guy! He was so cuddly and pitiful Friday night, but this picture is Saturday morning, and as you can see, he was quite chipper! He is such a champ! He has now gotten a runny nose and a bad cough, but I do believe he's getting better. What a precious little boy we have! I just love that long sleeve T! So cute!

Lake Day Sunday

We had the best time on the lake this past Sunday. Here are a couple pictures, starting with Dillon being silly with Grandmommy!

Handsome boy!

I love this shot! Everyone so happy! It was a great day - beautiful weather, calm lake, good food, quality family time! Can't beat that!
