Dillon - First Days at Home

The ride home from the hospital! We thought Dillon might not like the car seat (he fussed when we first put him in it to size the straps all up), but he ended up loving the ride! Since then he has been in the car one other time to go to the Dr's office, and he liked that as well. I think we have a good little traveler on our hands!

This is Dillon laying on my lap! Yes, we hold him a lot ... we can't help it!

Dillon sitting with his Grandmommy! She's a little cut off, but I know it's her!

Dillon's first ride in his swing! While he sat there, he just starred out the window and looked around the house. That ride really wore him out! He slept hard once he got out!

Stephanie and Dillon chilling!

Dillon after his first bath! Look at that face!!

Dillon and his Great Grandmother [aka Great Granny I guess!] He had quite a big time with her visit yesterday!

Dillon and Patsy

Dillon and his Mommy!

He's My Thumbsucking Boy!

Dillon had his first bath Saturday, September 27 - and during it, he sucked his thumb! How excited was I? Very! Those who knew me as a young child (birth - 2nd year of college ... lol) know I was an avid thumbsucker! As hard [traumatic] as that habit was to break, it was sooooooo cute seeing Dillon find his thumb! He's found his thumb a couple times today, but has not sucked on it for very long at all. I'm not sure if this is going to be a "habit" or not, but I could not resist the picture!

We are Home - All is Well

Sorry we have not posted since the hospital! I will post more soon - promise! Right now we are trying to eat supper - thanks Kim! - and feed Dillon. He just pooped so Dion is changing his diaper and I am taking a moment to let you all know we are home and all is well. DiLLon is still doing great! He makes us smile all the time! We just took our first visit outside the house - we went to the neighbors's. That was fun! Earlier today I took Dillon outside while Dion was cutting the grass, but I think it was a little too bright for the little guy! He buried his head! But was cute nonetheless!

OK - I will write more later and post some more pictures. Grandmom visited today (Great Granny to Dillon!), so we have lots of pictures! More to come ...

Day 2

Dillon is doing great! And so are Dion and I. We both got showers today and felt much better after that. Dillon has been feeing very good, and along with that, pooping like a champ! This is very reassuring to me - I was really worried about feeding him ... since it's kind of essential and all! But the lacation consultant came by twice today and gave us the thumbs up both times. Very good to hear! Also the pediatrician came by this morning and gave Dillon an A+! We have been very blessed!

Thank you all for your kind words and wishes! The phone calls and comments here and on facebook have been great! How cool is it to have the internet in the hospital room? Craziness!

Also - Happy Birthday Julie! I totally spaced when you called today! Hope you are having a great day! Love you!

First Pictures!!

He's back!

Dillon Michael and his Daddy!

Me and the baby ...

Baby Dillon all stretched out under the heat light ... his Daddy was jealous!

My Baby is Here!

Dillon Michael arrived this morning at 4:32am! The labor and delivery went very smooth - much more smooth than I ever imagined it would be. We have been very blessed throughout this whole process. He weighed in at 6lbs. 10 oz, and is 20 inches long! I haven't seen him since about 6:30, but I think he's on his way back to us soon.

The Good and the Bad

Okay - so tonight, something good happened and something bad happened ... all as a result of being 38 weeks and 6 days pregnant!

The good - - - tonight I pulled a shirt out of the dryer that was wrinkled as hell, but it didn't matter because after I put it on, it was so stretched you couldn't tell! No need to iron anymore ... that's awesome!

The bad - - - I really had to pee and went in the bathroom only to find the string on my jeans had worked itself in a knot. Not a big deal, right? Wrong. This poses quite a problem when you can't SEE the knot because it's stuck under your belly!!!!! I did manage to work it out and didn't have to go out to the restaraunt to get help from Dion!

Good times ... a week and a day left 'til d-day!

No Change ...

So, during my appt yesterday the doctor said I was progressing, BUT THEN I saw my chart, and she had written NO CHANGE! The nerve! :o) She also said she would see me next Friday at my appointment, so ... I guess it will be a little bit longer before I meet the baby that's been dancing inside my stomach for the past 8 1/2 months! Oh well, that will give me plenty of time to wash the laundry, weed the yard, pay the bills, update the website - OR watch 90210 and nap! (The latter is more likley!)

2 Weeks 2 Go!

I have an appt in the morning at 11am ... can't wait to hear what the doc has to say!!!

Home Cookin'!

Today I worked from home and Mom came to cook! She made and froze vegetable beef soup, 2 kinds of chili, chicken pot pie, baked spaghetti, potato/corn/bacon chowder and black bean cakes! 8 hours of straight cooking! We are going to be eating good once this little guy gets here!!

THANKS MOM!!!
